Scott specialises in sports massage and sports injuries, cryotherapy, remedial massage and taping and strapping.
He graduated from Luton University in 2003 with a BSc in Sports Therapy, having already graduated with a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science at Napier University. During his studies, he was lucky enough to be involved with both the Great British Judo team and the Scottish Rugby League team.
“I have gained great experience from the range of sports and athletes I have been fortunate to have worked with,” says Scott. “It is for this reason that I am delighted to bring my services to a thriving town like Forfar, as both Donald and I feel that Forfar has a fantastic opportunity to grow and develop as a sporting community, something we both would like to be part of,” he added.
Scott also adds that he is keen to help not just the sporting community, but also the working community: “Having studied for five years, I fully understand the stresses and demands on the human body in any working environment. It is common nature for people to pay more attention to their work than their own wellbeing so I feel strongly that this clinic is also a promotion of the health and wellbeing for the people of Angus as a whole.”
Scott worked as a Sports Therapist for Dundee United Football Club for five seasons and continues this work now with Forfar Athletic Football Club, a position he has held for the last three years.

Julie specialises in aromatherapy/ holistic massage, stone therapy, reflexology (ITEC Diplomas), Indian Head Massage (IPTI) and is an Usui Reiki Master/Teacher. She can also provide group work for relaxation, stress management, self-esteem, empowerment or taster treatment sessions for any interested group, employers or service users, so that people can find out more about what they can do to look after their own stress levels. For example, many employers now work towards Healthy Working Lives awards – workplace stress is a major issue.
Julie began practicing Reiki over 10 years ago and set up Spirit Level Therapies in 2006, after ten years as a senior communications manager in the NHS. Julie also has a wide range of experience working in journalism, radio broadcasting and mental health in the voluntary sector. During her time in radio, she became particularly interested in mental health and well-being – she is passionate about helping people to manage their ever-increasing levels of stress and to find balance in their lives.
Julie says: “I’ve been interested in stress management for a long time but my personal experience and work in the NHS are the reasons I became qualified in complementary healthcare: you will find that most, if not all, physical dis-ease stems from emotional or mental stress and I was appalled at how stressed my friends and colleagues were. As a therapist, I find it’s crucial to look at you holistically – that is, your whole being, not just the physical symptoms you may be experiencing. Your body’s default setting is to heal itself and restore balance. I endeavour to gently nudge that healing process into place by providing a little intervention, releasing your body’s own healing . Once balance is brought back into your life, you can make more confident decisions about what you need to do to move on. That’s why it’s so important to focus on each client individually so that the care I give you is tailored specifically for your own unique needs.
“I believe we don’t pay nearly enough attention to our own physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health and well-being. It’s time that changed! I’m delighted to continue to bring Spirit Level to Strathmore Therapies, working with people across my home community of Angus, Tayside and beyond.”
Please note: No diagnosis will be made regarding any condition or symptom and the important thing to remember is that these treatments are complementary to, not instead of, any care provided by any medical professional/clinician.

As a birth worker (doula, The Wise Hippo Birthing Programme instructor) and therapist (NO HANDS Massage, EFT) I support the informed choices of parents during pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood, as well as offering bodywork and other complementary therapies to people looking to improve mind, body and soul.
Following the birth of my own children I realised that childbirth is an important part of life for women and their families which can be hugely empowering but often, instead, traumatic.
Initially I prepared as a Doula with Adela Stockton, now of Mindful Doulas, in 2007 before going on to train in Hypnobirthing, the Marie Mongan Method, in 2011. Mothers in labour were wishing to use essential oils and other complementary therapies so I decided I needed to become qualified in other therapies to be able to add them to my toolkit.
Aromatherapy was taught with massage on the Complementary Course I did at my local college, along with Reflexology and Indian Head Massage, meaning I discovered bodywork! Wow!
However, I knew that I would not last long in this line of work if I did not protect myself. So I signed up for my first NO HANDS Massage course and never looked back. I now choose to use the NO HANDS Massage approach to bodywork in order to protect myself from injury and to provide the gentlest yet powerful treatments to my clients. Treatments can range from a simple Foot Massage to a Structural Release or a powerful Detox Programme, and many more.
2014 saw me move over to The Wise Hippo Birthing programme for Hypnobirthing in order to be more relevant to the UK maternity services. I truly believe that Hypnobirthing is such a fantastic and powerful way of preparing for childbirth, as no matter the outcome you have tools to cope. And these tools come in useful for both parents throughout the rest of their life.
I am now also working towards my Certification to Level 2 in EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques. Also known as Tapping, EFT is like Acupuncture without needles. Or a talking therapy with a physical component. Tapping is a powerful tool for improving life on multiple levels: mental, emotional and physical. Effectively addressing a range of issues from anxiety, chronic pain, addition, phobias, fear, weight control, stress relief, trauma, PTSD and so much more.
Fully insured and qualified as a NO HANDS Massage Advanced Practitioner, I also offer Pregnancy Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage and On-site seated massage.
When you arrive for your massage appointment I will consult with you to decide which treatment is most suitable for you on the day as your safety and comfort are my primary concern. I work to the highest clinical standards, abiding by the NO HANDS Massage Association’s unique Code of Responsibility.
I try to live a more holistic lifestyle and so became an independent NYR Organic Consultant, selling the wonderful products which are free from parabens, SLS/SLEs, silicones and other ‘nasties.’
With two children, a cat and a love of cars, crochet and chocolate I enjoy working with people to make a difference to their daily lives.
